Goodbye World Group…
I’ll rename the categories eventually. They’re in a bit of a mess at the moment.
I just read on the Davis Cup website that Lleyton Hewitt won’t play in the “crucial” singles rubber against Novak Djokovic so Chris Guccione will now play. Now this tie is on clay, so yeah – we’re so going to lose. Not that I think the chances are so good in the first place, considering Novak is now No. 3. I’m a little sad, only because we won’t get good ties here anymore (now that we’re out of the World Group!!!), let alone Finals like *that* one in 2003!
OK, I might be speaking too soon about Serbia winning. (Australia is actually 2-1 up after the doubles). And when (probably not if) it gets to the deciding rubber Peter Luczak would have a chance, theoretically. I don’t know a lot about Janko Tipsarevic but he’s not that bad of a player.
But surprisingly Croatia is already out of the World Group. Where is Ancic/Ljubicic? Is that Mario injuired… AGAIN?
There is some good news – PimPim is (really) back!
