The Defenders 01×07: More bromance & observations

I gave in.

I can’t stand watching only one episode per week! (In Australia we’re up to episode 5 at the moment.)

Didn’t really like episode 6, it was neither here nor there and just as I was getting worried that this show is going downhill, episode 7 surprised me again. “The Defenders” works because of the chemistry between Nick (Jim Belushi) and Pete (Jerry O’Connell). They work really well together and their bantering always make me laugh. Yay for bromance! But I do miss the “romance / rivalry” between Meredith & Pete in the earlier episodes. Doesn’t look like she’s coming back unfortunately.

Pete: Hey! What was that for?
Nick: I hate you! You know that….. I got to stay up all night, catch up on my case….
Pete: Are you serious? Are you actually in?
Nick: Yeah I’m in, are you happy?
Pete: We get a shot at this Nicky.
Nick: A shot…. no defence, no prep time, you’re the one that’s nuts!
Pete: We are representing the most hated woman in all of Las Vegas. This is gonna be great!

Cole (DA): This is a new low, even for you two.
Pete: Nick…don’t go there…
Nick: A new low! NICE!
Pete: [deep breaths] BUDDHA….
Nick: I am not a MONK! I’m a lawyer! You don’t see me sitting on top of a mountain eating miso soup do ya?
