The new single by William So is very touching (the MV is superb too!). I hope this is the start of a proper comeback from him, since he has a great voice but negative news had plagued his career.

Thoughts
Ahhh Raymond Lam. He’s my favourite HK actor / singer. But this doesn’t mean this will be one of those “OMG YOU MUST BUY THIS – HE’s HOT!” type of review. In fact it’ll be quite the opposite. Sometimes I feel like I’m being more harsh on him because I know he’s capable of better.
Firstly – the cover. Does it even look like him? My answer is no. I’m not a fan of it, at all. There’re actually better photos inside this album but they chose this one. I would like to know why. Not the best first impression.
The major problem (and this is critical) I have with this album is that there is only three NEW songs. Apart from “One more time”, “Too hot” and “Let me love you for one hour”, the other SEVEN songs have been previously released in his Cantonese albums. As Cantonese is my first language, one of my pet peeves is Cantonese converted to Mandarin songs (and vice versa). This pet peeve is right up there along with people who chew with their mouths open, or people who talk way too loud on their mobile phones on the bus.

Thoughts
My interest in his music has only really begun since his 6th album “Play it cool” – where I think he had more control over his music and became more of a singer/song writer. Born and studied in the USA, some might still think of him as this “hip hop ABC rap cool dude wannabe”, but I think he’s gone past that now and capable of releasing some great pop music – trendy as well as putting cpop on the world map.

**UPDATED 2nd February 2011** Full version of lyrics added + translation!
After religiously following TMOJ for a few weeks now I thought I’d mix things up a bit by watching an idol drama!! LOL. Well, the main appeal is of course Will Pan, who I only “discovered” last year by watching his earlier series and eventually led me to Taipei Arena to see his concert in December 2009…..(!!! Good times!!!) “Endless Love” is his new drama which just started last week. I haven’t finished the first episode yet and already you know the formula is going to be: rich girl / poor guy, she already likes his other guy, but we all know she will fall in love with Will…. but her family probably objects…..they encounter some obstacles….etc etc. If it’s so typical, why am I watching? Well, that’s the point of idol dramas I guess, is the disconnect with reality. As long as there’re good lead actors, I watch. hahhaha.
On the song itself….
The full version is not out yet, this is only the TV version. The theme is called 我們都怕痛 (We’re all afraid of pain) – the video from the series is shot quite beautifully, so I can’t help but do a translation. Can’t wait to hear the full version!
Many years ago~ (at the beginning of my teenage years) I was a Leon fangirl. You know… one of the four “heavenly kings” of Cantopop? LOL. But by the time this song was originally released (I believe it was 1998), I had “left” this fandom to greener pastures (or maybe not).
From my TMOJ themed posts you would guess who my current “person of interest” is, so I was listening to one of his radio interviews from earlier this year, and found this song. As mentioned before, it was originally by Leon Lai Ming, called 我這樣愛你 (roughly translated to “I love you like this”). After I heard this version I could not stop listening to it! I had pretty much forgotten what the original version sounded like but this version by Ken, I really like. A lot of people think – “HUH? He can sing? I thought he’s only a host….” well, he has a really good voice and has done the Canto version of “The Sound of Music” earlier this year (and also last year as well).
