Consider this post my first venture in “TVB Blogging”, which is what I’m trying to do more of now. Since I’m not that good blogging about my personal life.
Let’s start with a little “intro”, just so you know where I’m coming from. Although originally from HK, I didn’t watch a lot of TVB stuff until about 4 years ago. In my home we never rented tapes or whatever, since my mum thought they’re a waste of money and time. We would watch the occasional series, when friends lend us stuff to watch etc. At the time my favourite is probably Chilam (from Cold Blood Warm Heart), I still like him, and looking forward to his return to TVB.
After I got broadband that’s when I started to seek out TVB series to watch. My favourite people are Raymond Lam, Myolie Wu & Sammul Chan. I also have a soft spot for “oldies” like Michael Miu and Damien Lau. Now I wouldn’t call myself really “up to date” with TVB series. I don’t religiously watch them, and only pick out the ones that seems interesting. (or have my favourites in it of course)
At the moment, I’m watching 3 series: The Seventh Day, Last One Standing and The Gem of Life. It’s probably more than what I would normally watch, but it might take me a whole year to watch “Gem”, considering it’s like 80 episodes. (It did take me 7 months to watch “The Drive of Life”, even with ah Fung in it!) I’m up to episode 9 of “Gem”, and I must say my interest in it had died down a bit. Actually, I wasn’t really interested in this series to begin with. But after watching four series (pretty much four in a row – The Master of Tai Chi, New Breath of Love, Moonlight Resonance & The Four) of Raymond Lam…… I guess a change is good.
